Date Listed: Feb-02-08 Event Date(s): Jun-07-08 to Jun-08-08 . DUE TO A SEVERE ELECTRICAL PROBLEM IN THE ILLINOIS BUILDING, THE GLASS SHOW HAS BEEN MOVED TO THE ORR BUILDING. We hope this is not an inconvenience for anyone, but we had NO choice this year. Next year we will be back in the Illinois Building as usual. SEE INFORMATION BELOW. The Lincoln Land Depression Era Glass & Pottery Club of Springfield will host it's 33rd annual Glass Show and Sale in the Orr Building at the Illinois State Fairgrounds, Springfield, Illinois. This sale features only American-made glass & pottery from the late 1920's through 1969. The theme this year is "A Toast on the Town" and the lobby display will feature ice buckets, punch bowls, stems, etc. Well-known dealers across the United States will be on hand with their wares for sale and to share their knowledge with you. There will be a noted glass grinder on hand to grind away chips in glass you might already own. Also a very good refreshment stand to fill your lunch break needs will be there to serve you. If you are a seasoned collector you may find that piece of glass you have been searching for. If you are new to the glass/pottery collectibles, you will just be amazed at what you will find here. Come one and all to enjoy a beautiful day of collecting and learning. Sat. 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sun. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Directions: From I-55 take the Sangamon Avenue Exit and follow Sangamon Avenue to the Fairgrounds. Enter Gate 11 and follow to the "Orr Building Sign". Turn left and continue to the Orr Building |
