Controls Engineer
The ideal candidate will have proven track recrod in programming leadership, ability to develop and implement standard engineering practices, as well as provide detailed documentation upon project completion.  Must be able to create and read logic and flow diagrams for program design, programming, simulation and testing, and start-up.  Experience with logic auto-generation from templates is a plus.  Must be flexible to travel up to 40% for machine installations, debug, troubleshooting, and training.  Comprehensive benefit package and relocation assistance offered.
 
Primary Skills Required:
  • Experience with a wide variety of programmable control systems, AB RS Logix 500, 500 RSView Studio, PanelBuilder; Seimens Step 7, ProTools, WinCC; Omron CX-One, GE Fanuc Proficy Machine Edition, Cognex, ABB and FANUC. 
  • HMI's, servos, and instrumentation systems with a proven ability to comprehend, interpret, and troubleshoot controls systems.
  • Experience in higher level programming languages used for robots, servos, data acquisition, and databases is required.
  • Fundamental understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic and lubrication systems.
Location:  Greater Rockford, IL area
 
Salary:  $75,000 to $80,000

Degree Type:  BS degree or equivalent experience.  Electrical, Electronics, or related engineering field.
 
Experience Minimum:  Minimum 7-10 years experience in programming, debugging assembly systems or equivalent machines. 
 
Job Requirements:
  • Lead the design and development of machine logic (PLC, Robot, Vision or HMI) following specified PLC standards. 
  • Lead the hardware and software design team for automated machinery.
  • Determine hardware and software design approached and parameters.
  • Responsible for designing and developing electrical hardware schematics using ACED following specified standards.
  • Review hardware and software designs with the customer for engineering approval.
  • Travel to the customer site to assist in the installation/start-up and final machine acceptance - up to 40%.
  • Be responsible for machine startup and equipment functionality per the customer agreed upon contract.
