Oscar has turned out to be a very sweet boy but he needs a home without a lot of action and no dogs because he will be a little shy unitl he gets to know you.Oscar is one of our older kittens and we are just now placing him up for adoption because it has taken him some time to trust people. Oscar began his life outdoors and was trapped at 3 months old. He is about 5 months now. We didnt want to release Oscar back to the wild because we felt that with time he would come around and he did.We have a very time tested process that works well for older feral kittens. We place older kittens with 3-4 very friendly kittens in a room. We move in and out of the room interacting with all of the kittens who like attention. We sit on the floor and play with all of the kittens while the feral kitten watches. Feral kittens then learn to accept human contact and soon move closer to accept touch. We do not force contact in the beginning. Once contact has been made we massage and knead kittens as they tend to do to each other. Kittens are then placed on their back and we massage the back of their necks just above their shoulders. This area is the same area that their mothers use when carrying their kittens and they naturally relax. We continue to handle the kittens until they are very socialable and are comfortable being held. Due to the active and unpredicatable nature of kittens and young children we feel that even supervised there is a chance for an accident to occur between very young children and our kittens and we therefore recommend that you consider a kitten over the age of 6 months and older if you have small children. All of our cats and kittens have been:* Vaccinated* Tested for FeLV/FIV* Wormed* Neutered/Spayed* Micro-chipped with AVID ID chip* Come with a pre-paid AVID registration (Exception Barn Cats)** All Barn Cats are free of charge to approved barns and come with a rabies vaccination as well
